“All the world’s a stage

And all the men and women
merely players:

They have their exits and
their entrances;

And one man in his time plays
many parts.”

—As You Like It Act II, Scene 7.
William Shakespeare

I consider Shakespeare one of my most profound mentors when it comes to people and our emotions, which seem to be the same, century after century. Maybe that’s why, in spite of our great scientific technological inventions and often high spiritual ideals, we’ve changed so little since the dawn of time.

Shakespeare’s famous lines aptly describe the emotional nature that fuels human action. All of us are actors in a never-ending drama. People’s feelings thrive on drama, whether it’s tragedy or comedy.

Action, drama and stories give all of us what we need to learn from and to change emotionally. No amount of logic, facts or figures can ever change feelings, which is why reasoning rarely assists you in overcoming any problems of an emotional nature. Emotions need action, drama and stories to learn from and to change. Every person’s emotional nature is always vying for three roles – victim, villain or hero.

5ppShakspear1 Prominent People who are TaurusWilliam Shakespeare, born on April 23, 1564

Shakespeare, an English poet, actor and playwright, is thought to be born on April 23, 1564, three days before his baptism which was customary at that time.

Truly an earthy, creative Taurus, Shakespeare is widely regarded as the greatest writer in the English world. Is it amazing to me that he created 5000 new words and that his works were nearly made into a religion. He left behind 38 plays which have been translated into every major living language and are performed more often than any other playwright. How’s that for Taurus grounding. Shakespeare died on his birth day in 1616.

While doing past life regressions on thousands of people several years ago, I was at one time particularly interested in what would influence the person’s rebirth, besides how they lived their lives. What I found was that if the person died during Taurus, they would be reborn during that time, no matter when they were born. For example; Shakespeare was born a Taurus and died a Taurus, so to me, he would then be reborn as a Taurus. Likewise, if Shakespeare had died during Aries, that’s when he would be reborn.

Now with that said, Madame FuFu, my whacky psychic self, thinks that Shakespeare reincarnated as Salvador Dali who was a famous Taurus as well, being born on May 11, 1904, dying during the time of Aquarius in 1989.

6ppDali Prominent People who are Taurus

Salvador Dali, born on May 11, 1904

Salvador Dali was as versatile a painter as Shakespeare was a writer. As Salvador Dali, he expressed himself as a painter, sculptor, graphic artist, design, book illustration, jewelry designer and worked for the theater in cubism, futurism, metaphysical painting, and as a surrealist. He was one of the most famous artists of the 20th Century, and he also wrote a novel and several volumes of what was termed a flamboyant autobiography. And indeed, both as Shakespeare and as Salvador Dali, both were most flamboyant. Like very sensual Taurus’, both expressed their sexuality through Dali in paintings of sexual objects and pictures centering on his wife. Shakespeare dealt with sexuality in many of his plays, like The Two Gentlemen of Verona, Taming of the Shrew and Romeo and Juliet.

7ppPacino Prominent People who are Taurus

Al Pacino, born April 25, 1940

Enough of the dead, let’s look for another prominent Taurus that’s alive today and that radiates the earthy Taurus characteristics. How about Al Pacino, who was born April 25, 1940 in New York? He is credited with being the greatest and most accomplished actor of his generation, winning the Oscar for his role in Scent of a Woman after receiving seven previous nominations. He had four Oscar nominators for The Godfather.

Besides being creative in a real earthy way, wouldn’t you say that all three Taurus individuals are most intense?

8ppNicholson Prominent People who are Taurus

Jack Nicholson, born April 22, 1937

Here’s another Taurus earthy, off the wall, intense personality that can help you in understanding the passion and sensuality of Taurus; Jack Nicholson. Imagine, he is one of only two actors nominated for an Academy Award every decade for acting since the 1960’s. One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest was considered his best.

9ppNelson Prominent People who are Taurus

Willie Nelson, born April 30, 1933

Now let’s turn to music and look for Taurus characteristics that are easily discernable after you get a hang of it. How about Willie Nelson?

In case you haven’t noticed, a Taurus is not content with being a specialist in just one area but is driven to express themselves through many facets of their profession. Willie Nelson was born April 30, 1933 and is an American country singer-songwriter, author, poet, actor and activist. I love his reincarnation song, The Highway Man.

10ppArgassi Prominent People who are Taurus

Andre Agassi, born April 29, 1970

For sports, how about Andre Agassi, born April 29, 1970, now retired but former World No. 1 in tennis. Certainly he was intense, unorthodox in both clothing and attitude; he has been cited as one of the most charismatic players in the history of the game and credited for helping revive the popularity of tennis during the 1990’s. He’s much like a great actor on stage.

Taurus Women

So where are the women? Let’s look for these same intense characteristics, now just in female bodies, most expressive; they are musts of a Taurus.

11ppHepburn Prominent People who are Taurus

Katharine Hepburn, born May 12, 1907

How about Katharine Hepburn? She was born May 12, 1907. She holds the record for the most Best Actress Oscar wins with four, although she was nominated twelve times. She also won an Emmy, two Tony Awards and eight Golden Globes. She has been ranked by the American Film Institute as the greatest female star in the history of America cinema. Just like other Taurus personalities, she was unconventional in her relationships.

Did I mention that all of these Taurus’ made and kept their money? Also these Taurus individuals have not picked the traditional marriage roles. Katharine Hepburn never married although she was with Spencer Tracy for years, Al Pacino never married, and Jack Nicholson was married for only four years.

12ppMcLain Prominent People who are Taurus

Shirley MacLaine, born April 24, 1934

Here’s another prominent celebrity that is all Taurus, Shirley MacLaine born April 24, 1934. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in Terms of Endearment. She is one earthy unconventional individual. She is well known for her beliefs in new age spirituality and reincarnation, writing several autobiographical works dealing with her spiritual beliefs as well as her Hollywood career. She was married to Steve Parker, but has been divorced since 1982 and has one child. She’s made and kept her money, like most Taurus personalities.

13ppActress Prominent People who are Taurus

Penelope Cruz, born April 28, 1974

And here’s the last one who is every bit as versatile and earthy as Al Pacino, Willie Nelson, Jack Nicholson, Audrey Hepburn and Shirley MacLaine. It’s Penelope Cruz, born April 28, 1974. She’s the first Spanish actress to receive an Academy Award for Vicky Cristina Barcelona. She’s also been nominated two more times, in 2010 for Nines and in 2006 for Volver. Like Audrey Hepburn, she was outspoken about the press, describing them as disgusting and felt that gossip affects our society on a much deeper level, an ethical level. Like many Taurus individuals, she is single, although she dated Tom Cruise for three years, and Matthew McConaughey for little over a year. Like Shirley MacLaine, she is very spiritual and has donated a considerable amount of money and time to charity. She has volunteered in Uganda and spent a week working for Mother Teresa that included assisting in a leprosy clinic. I’d say for sure this is one actress we will want to watch for years to come.

Taurus and the Arts

In this newsletter, I wanted to concentrate on Taurus individuals that expressed themselves through the arts. It’s certainly in every Taurus to do so, and there will always be a longing, a loss if not expressed in some way, at least as a hobby. And for all of us that were not born during the Sun’s movement through the second section of a new band in the sky, embrace these energies and let this part of you unfold if you haven’t already.

Taurus is by no means relegated to the arts solely. Watch for my next Taurus newsletter, and I’ll show you a whole different aspect of Taurus.
