Background to Writing the Book
I consider myself one of a cast of thousands that helped pioneer what was called the New Age and now more often called the Human Potential Movement. A big part of my destiny is to bring about understanding of what I consider the feminine aspect of all of us; feelings and intuition. My primary laboratory was as a counselor, one-on-one, listening to the same emotional stories year after year, sometimes 12 to 14 hours a day. Finally it became clear to me just what the game of life was really all about.
Now, I must tell you though, it’s not necessarily a book written with love. I was not happy when I realized the plot that we all play out, day-after-day, mostly unconsciously. I guess you would say that I felt manipulated, as if I had been an unconscious player in life, and thought that was not fair. So I wrote the book from the viewpoint of an expose, with still a lot of upset and told one story after another from my clients to illustrate my points. I also had a co-writer, Marlene Roeder. She is a former journalist and had as much upset as I did when she heard me speak at a seminar in Bali. She said, “I have to help you get this out.”
Should I still sell these, as I’ve shifted so much since then? In fact, since my awakening or understanding of the plot, I’ve spent my years working out how to transform the game; put the love into it.
If you haven’t figured out the game of life, what it’s all about, I bet you’ll have the same reactions that I had. I think you will be as amazed as I was at its simplicity. How could we have missed it!
It is a fact, you cannot transform something until you understand it and then you can spring into action.
